On Thursday 27 March 2025, a rotation of IOIBD executive positions took place during the Annual Business Meeting for academic members in Auckland, New Zealand

The new executive team for IOIBD has been installed
:
Chair: David Rubin, University of Chicago, USA
Scientific Secretary: James Lindsay, The Royal London Hospital, UK
Treasurer (since 2023): Pär Myrelid, Linköping University Hospital, Sweden
Deputy chair: Axel Dignass, Agaplesion Markus Hospital, Germany
Deputy Scientific Secretary: Dermot McGovern, Cedars Sinai Medical Center LA, USA
Member at Large: Ailsa Hart, St. Marks Hospital London, UK
Member at Large (since 2024): Mark Silverberg, Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto, Canada

Of the above, Pär Myrelid and Mark Silverberg (not in photo) have remained in their position. The other members are either new to the executive team or have rotated from other roles. The term for executive members is normally 2 years, with exceptions for the (deputy) chair, 3 years, and for the treasurer, 6 years.

The immediate past chair, Iris Dotan, has served IOIBD in the past six years.
She passes the organization in excellent shape into the capable hands of David Rubin.

Marla Dubinsky, past scientific secretary, has served the executive team for the last five years.
Her contributions have been instrumental at the success of our meetings.

The first project initiated by Dr. Rubin is a strategic plan 2030 for IOIBD, involving many of the members and focusing
on 4 subtopics:
• Structure of the organization
• Membership
• Meetings
• Finances and Legal
Working groups have been established collaborating on these topics. Full IOIBD membership will be involved in this process, leading to an even stronger organization that is fit for the future. The revision of the mission and vision of IOIBD are part of this strategic plan.
