It is a pleasure to forward this IOIBD Newsletter, highlighting events in the IOIBD community.
We celebrate another successful IOIBD meeting, from 27-30 March 2025 in Auckland, New Zealand. We appreciate all attendees for making the (long) journey! Some combined the trip with the Dr. Falk Meeting in Sydney, others combined with the ‘IBD All-stars meeting’ in Queenstown. Many took time off to travel through beautiful New Zealand.
Based on your feedback in the post-AGM survey, the long journey was very worth the trip!
A huge thank you once more to the local Organising committee chaired by Richard Gearry, with Michael Kamm and Siew Ng. You have raised the bar both for the scientific and the social program, with extraordinary blending of the local culture into both parts of our AGM!
Auckland event facts:
-> The onsite participation was 109 delegates for the AGM and 67 for the Satellite.
-> The local organizing team led by Richard Gearry did a great job showcasing regional science and the many beautiful aspects of Auckland and New Zealand. Michael and Siew joined forces to present us with the best state-of-the art IBD science. The variety of social events, the great food and the many typical Māori influences in the meeting have made a lasting impact on our participants. It was considered a very warm and personal meeting, with a high level of science.
-> The Satellite meeting was organized by Marla Dubinsky, Axel Dignass, Marietta Iacucci, and David Rubin. The topic for the meeting was highly relevant, as always: Potential Roles of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in IBD’
